Interocean's procurement philosophy is based on building and maintaining long-term relationships with our suppliers and customers world-wide. The company has had extensive international presence in Europe since our founding in 1943, and in Asia and South America for almost 50 years. Our procurement process begins with assessment of our markets and the future demand trends of our customers, coupled with world supply opportunities. Our personnel, and our network of buying agents, regularly schedule research and exploratory trips to production areas. Visits to packing plants and sample shipments are arranged before a new supply relationship is created. Interocean's sales and procurement staff also attend annual seafood industry shows in Brussels, China, Boston and Los Angeles, enabling us to keep abreast of supply developments and opportunities. Once a supplier relationship
is created, we and our agents share market information, and give support
and training to our new supply partners through regular visits and constant
communication. |
